If someone said the word overcome to you, what would you think of?
If someone said the word overcome to me, I would think of defeating evil in order to pursue your dreams. Overcoming is not a skill that you are born with, it has to be learned in order to be obtained.
What is the opposite of overcoming to you?
The opposite of overcoming is losing faith in the ability to achieve your goals. Not overcoming is to be overcome by all of the things opposing you. You cannot possibly win and be overcome at the same time no matter what.
What famous person do you think overcame well?
The first person that comes to mind when I think of overcoming is Jesus who overcame death to save us. Also, on my favorite soccer team, Manchester United, many players have overcome. The main player I can think of on the team who has overcome is Romelu Lukaku. He arrived from another club in the summer of 2017 and was having a great season, until he stopped scoring. He worked hard every game, but goals would not come. He went a span of twelve games with only one goal. However, he was able to score 17 goals in the following games to finish the season with a career high of 25 goals. Lukaku overcame doubts others had about him and his own.
Who is someone you know who has overcome?
Someone I know who has overcome is my dad because he had a broken collarbone and he overcame his injury and got back to full health. He has even been lifting stuff down from the attic and helping to get my boat back in shape.
What is something you’ve had to overcome?
In my daily life I overcome hard practices (Swimming and Waterpolo) by still giving it my all and striving to be the best athlete I can be. I know that how hard I work to overcome will be directly proportional to what shape I am in and if I will make the boat I want to get in for Crew.
